Top 10 Most Adorable Animals in the World (excluding dogs and cats)

You would agree that dogs and cats will always be adorable. But, what if we tell you that there are other species that are more adorable than your dogs.

We compiled 10 of the most adorable animals in the world (including mollusks) that will make you think twice about adopting a new pet. 😉

#1: Opisthoteuthis Adorabilis
(Flapjack Octopus)

Flapjack Octopus spends most of its time sitting on the bottom of the ocean. And the only time that they move is when they try to find food or look for their soulmates. Isn’t it adorable?

#2: Pteromys Volans
(Siberian Flying Squirrel)

Did it ever cross your mind that these tubby little fluff balls could go very far in the air? You’re shocked now, aren’t ya! Siberian Flying Squirrel flaps of their skin by their legs to help them glide between trees. They are mostly found in Russia, China, and other northern areas of Asia and Europe. In Japan, you can only see them on the island of Hokkaido.

#3: Aptenodytes Forsteri
(Emperor Penguins)

According to Young Post, Emperor penguins huddle together to escape strong winds and conserve heat. These little creatures depend on each other in order to survive in Antarctica. How we wish we have someone to huddle. (aww)

#4: Ochotona (Pika)

American Pikas or Pika are related to rabbits and hares. If you think that they are just small creatures, think twice. This family of little critters is experts in surviving harsh weather, without burying holes. We bet they can survive in the winter than you. 😀

#5: Ailuropoda Melanoleuca (Panda)

Ailuropoda Melanoleuca or we already know as Panda could be one of the laziest animals in the world. They can spend at least 12 hours a day eating bamboo, without moving a bit from their beloved spots. How lovely would be to have their lifestyles, right?

#6: Vulpes Zerda (Fennec Fox)

If you’re wondering why fennec foxes are adorable, it is because they are the world’s smallest canine species. Coming from North Africa, these cute canines have the largest ears, which help them give off heat and hunt prey. Though, it is so weird to see such a small creature with large ears. Dumbo? Is that you?

#7: Acinonyx Jubatus (Cheetah)

Okay, fine. We know that they are members of the cat family. But did you know that cheetahs use their tail like the rudder of a boat, to steer when running? This is the reason why they are one of the fastest runners on Earth.

#8: Tragulidae (Chevrotain)

Is it a deer or not? A deer or not? You might wonder. It might look like a deer, but this chevrotain stands at only about a foot tall at the shoulder. Surely, these tiny creatures look straight out of a fairy tale forest.

#9: Taeniura Meyeni
(Palm-sized Baby Ray)

According to Readers Digest, despite its flat shape, stingray feeds on different species of crabs, clams, oysters, and mollusks. Now, we are wondering how they do that. But we are more bothered why this creature seems to be smiling at us.

#10: Leptailurus Serval (Serval)

We get it. This is the second member of the cat family. But serval is “giraffe cats” and is found in African savannahs. Their long necks aren’t their only defining feature, but they also have bigger ears than any other cat. Now, we are not sure if this serval is taunting us (because of what we said before).

Now you proved your point. Cat family members are actually cute. That includes your regular house cat. 😉

So, did you think that these animals are actually adorable than your regular pet in the house?

If you agree with us, tell us in the comments below. If, not, then show us a much adorable photo than these animals above.
