• Raw pork: This carries the risk of an – often fatal – infection with the Aujezky virus. Aujeszky ‘s disease (NA) or pseudolysis is manifested mainly through neurological symptoms in the cat. The cat becomes restless and immobile, makes its presence felt with frequent meowing and loses a lot of saliva through obvious swallowing movements. At an advanced stage, coordination problems and paralysis occur.

• Avocados: Avocados are also a dangerous food for cats. In the human diet avocados are beneficial because of their health-promoting properties, however they are harmful to cats. The persin contained in cats causes shortness of breath, swelling and damage to the heart muscle.
• Tomatoes and aubergines: Vegetables contain atropine, which causes heart arrhythmias in cats.
• Raw poultry: Even if cats love poultry, they should never eat it. Because consuming it poses many risks to our cats – among other things because it could contain salmonella.
• Bones: These can contain debris and thus injure the cat’s palate, stick to the neck or damage the cat’s intestinal wall.
• Legumes and cabbage: Legumes and cabbage are also harmful foods for cats. They have the property of being difficult to assimilate. For the cat they can be completely indigestible and cause bloating or diarrhea. Individual deaths have also been reported.
• Onions: Onions in any form are very toxic to cats – either raw, cooked, dried or powdered. The reason for this is sulfides. These affect the red blood cells of cats. Consumption of all kinds of onions can cause vomiting, diarrhea, mucous membrane irritation or even anemia in our favorite cats. Even small amounts are enough to change the cat’s blood for the negative and endanger its health.
• Leeks: Leeks are also a dangerous food for cats. These include wild garlic and chives. Chives in particular are often found in gardens, balconies and in the kitchen. If the cat consumes it, there is a risk of poisoning.

• Milk: Because cats are naturally lactose intolerant, you should not give them milk, although it is often claimed that farm cats drink milk regularly (supposedly) without harm.

It’s not a cat food, but it is still dangerous: “snail grains”

This is not a snail snack, but a snailicide that is pressed in the shape of a grain, and is used against the “attack” of snails in the garden and at home. It is also known as a mollusk. Its granules may contain stomach poison, metaldehyde. So make sure the cat food never comes in contact with the snail grains.

If your cat has symptoms such as vomiting, balance problems or very severe salivation, you should consult a veterinarian immediately. He / she can then start the appropriate treatment as soon as possible to save the cat.
