Yankee the Poodle hated being a homeless dog on the streets of Los Angeles. Some locals fed him food for years, but no one was in a position to take him home.

Over the course of a month, locals noticed that Yankee had collapsed in an alley and had stopped moving even though he was conscious.

This got everyone worried and they called a rescue for help.

In this video, we see the rescuers from “Hope For Paws” observing Yankee and wondering if the dog is injured or sick.

But the moment they bring out the rescue leash, Yankee sits up and shifts his body to avoid the rescuers.

It is then that the rescue team realizes the dog’s heartbreaking mental state – the poor thing is just tired of living on the streets and has simply lost his will to live.

The rescuers somehow manage to coax Yankee to follow them to the rescue van.

At the hospital, it is confirmed that Yankee is quite healthy and just needs lots of care and love to deal with his depressed state of mind.

After pondering over this fragile dog’s future, the rescuers decide to place him in a nurturing foster home.

The rescuers were hopeful about Yankee, but they had never expected the foster family’s little son to heal the dog’s broken heart the way he did!

The sweet boy’s unadulterated love and affection motivated the dog to find his spark again and blossom into a loving dog.

After this video went viral, Yankee found a forever home of his own! This kid is definitely a miracle worker for gloomy dogs!
